Updated "To Do" and "Project" Lists

Items I add to my "To Do" lists are not every day chores.  Usually they are things that I do less often than twice a week.

  • Take pictures of clothes and post on KSL
  • Find place for the diaper stockpile in girl's room
  • Put away old clothes into bags
  • Sell vacuum parts
  • Laundry
  • Take out recycling
  • Wash rags and dishtowels
  • Organize and put away coupons
  •  Clean doormat
  • Clean out fridge/freezer
My "Projects" List contains tasks that only needs to be done once and usually costs money$$$.

Projects List;
  • Paint wall behind stairs
  • Rearrange living room furniture
  • Put up pictures in living room
  • Make boxes for cubicle in girl's room
  • Put a picture in the empty frame in girls room

Tuesday 1/29/13

I still have several items on my "To Do" list but I've kept the house clutter free.  Dishes off the counter and out of the sink. No piles on the stairs.

I'm planning on purchasing a lot of strawberries and bananas that are on sale today and I need to make room for them in the freezer.  My fridge needs to be cleaned out and organized too.

Please don't judge me by the contents of my freezer! I'm going to need to play tetris to make room in here.

Please don't judge me by the contents of my fridge either!!!

 Clean!  And crossed off my "To Do" list

Cleaning up the mess

I don't know why but I can't seem to find motivation to clean on Sundays.  This is what it looked like Sunday evening =(  It is completely out of my comfort zone to let anyone see my house like this so I hope that gives me motivation to keep it clean next Sunday.

This is my overflowing recycling bin.  I organize my coupons on Sunday so it gets pretty full.

Dirty Rag/Dishtowel Bin. I need to do some laundry.

I did put away the Christmas Hot Chocolate and Candy though.

Dishwasher is full of clean dishes.  I just couldn't get myself to empty it. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner dishes are really stacking up.

 My girls like to "help" me organize my coupons.  I give them the old store adds and coupons and they fill their backpacks. But mostly they just leave papers all over the house.

Our doormat was filthy.  There has been snow on the ground since Christmas and our mat was constantly wet.   I'm not sure if that is good for our laminate flooring so I put it away and replaced it with cardboard. It doesn't look great but I'll pull the mat out again if I know someone is coming over. I want a mudroom someday!

Living Room.  The girls think watching movies on blankets spread out on the floor is much more fun than sitting on the couch.

This is where I've been organizing my coupons all day.

Stairs. At least I've kept piles from accumulating on the stairs.

 Hallway. Dirty clothes that somehow missed the hamper ten feet away in another part of the house.

Bathroom.  Lots of clutter but it's clean.

Proof that the bathroom is clean. I judge a bathroom's cleanliness by the back of the toilet seat area. Even if a bathroom appears clean, if there are pee stains or dust on this part of the toilet, I assume everything in the bathroom is dirty and unsanitary. If you judge a clean bathroom by a clean, water spot-less mirror, than my bathroom would only be clean twice a week in your definition.

 Girl's Room.

 Items for the To Do List (I don't add regular cleaning such as dishes, etc to my to do list);
  • Take out recycling
  • Wash rags and dishtowels
  • Organize and put away coupons
Items for my Project List;
  •  Put a picture in the empty frame in girls room
  • Clean doormat

After some cleaning

 I cleaned up the clutter above the fridge.  I still need to find another place to put these items.

Tuesday 1/22

I haven't finished anything on my "To Do" or "Project" lists.  I've been able to keep the house pretty much picked up and dishes out of the kitchen sink and off the counters.

The Girls got busy with their toys while I was getting ready this morning.

Girls Room

Upstairs Hallway - The small pile of clothes is laundry.  I need to take pictures of the car-seat and put it on KSL (like Craig List).  I need to make room for the vacuum in the hallway closet.

 The girls room is picked up.
I have several projects that needs to be done in their room.  I need a bedspread for my daughter's toddler bed.
I need to find a less visible place for our diaper stockpile.
I need to make boxes for the cubicle.  Right now their cubicle is overflowing.  There's even items on top of the cubicle.  I plan on making boxes following this tutorial.
I need to figure out a creative way to store their stuffed animals.

I cleaned out and organized their dressers last week.  They are very full so they don't look very organized but I feel better knowing that everything in their has a place and is folded neatly and that there isn't clothes in their dressers that doesn't fit them anymore.

The hallway is picked up.  I haven't made room for the vacuum in the closet yet.  The vacuum just got moved to another room that needed to be vacuumed.  I would like to someday paint the hallway and change all the old doors to panel doors.  Right now it is very white and boring.  But I have so many other things on my project list.  These projects will have to wait.

I keep gifts I buy throughout the year in the hallway closet in boxes with their names marked on them.  I'm lucky that my girls are too young to realize what these boxes contain.  My husband, however, knows where his box is and what it contains.  He has been threatened with his life not to look in his box.

We also keep our personal supplies and cleaning supplies stockpiles in the closet.  We add to it and take from it regularly so it can get unorganized pretty quickly.  Also the gift boxes are not easy to get to so I often will put a gift wherever I can find room until I have time to get a chair and pull down their boxes.

I keep the clothes the girls have grown out of  in bags in the bottom of the closet.   The clothes in the box needs to be put away in the bags. The bags are getting full so I need to go through them again and decide if there is any more I want to sell.

The vacuum parts on the left belong to our vacuum that broke down a month ago.  I need to sell these parts to make room for the new vacuum.

Items for the To Do List;
  • Find a bedspread for toddler bed
  • Find place for the diaper stockpile
  • Put away old clothes into bags
  • Sell vacuum parts
  • Laundry
Items for the Project List;
  • Make boxes for cubicle

Start of a new week - Monday

I feel cluttered in my house today.  I have so many things sitting around the house that either needs to be finished, organized, or put away.

Kitchen-maybe one or two dirty dishes.  Not very messy but the clutter needs to be put away.  I still have Christmas hot chocolate boxes and a large bowl full of Christmas candy on the counter .  The crock pot is clean but has been sitting there for over a day.  It needs to be put away in the garage. Ironing board needs to be put away.  It looks so messy! It becomes to focal point of the room when it's up.

This is above my fridge.  Items that need to be returned to their owners.  I need to find a better spot than on top of my fridge. You can see this clutter from the front door so it needs to go!

Dinning room.  The large pot is another item that needs to be returned to it's owner.  The mop sitting out makes the room look cluttered.

This is in the corner of our living room. I went through my girls clothes and decided to sell what we will not be using or no longer need. I need to take pictures of the clothes and list them on KSL (like Craig's lists).  We have a very tight budget and I sell as much as I can to add to our savings.

Living Room - Not too bad.  I want to rearrange the furniture to make it feel less cluttered.  And I need to paint the wall behind the stairs.  I painted all the walls downstairs before the holidays except this wall.  I wanted to decorate for Christmas so I decided to wait on this wall.  Now that the holidays are over, I'm just dragging my feet.

The Stairs - I have this bad habit of putting things that need to be put away upstairs on or next to the stairs.  This is a couples days worth of items.  You can't see this mess from the front door so I usually put off cleaning up this mess.

The pictures I took off the walls when I painted.  I want to rearrange the furniture before deciding where to hang the pictures again.

Bathroom -  The counter is cluttered and curtain was left opened with a towel draped over the curtain rod.
Easy fixes but these things make the room look messy.

 I only had time for some light cleaning today.  I picked up the clutter and vacuumed downstairs but didn't have time for anything else.  The mess is still above the fridge.  I need to figure out a place to put those things.  The crock pot is still sitting on the counter and the large pot is still on my dinning room table.  I did put the items on and around the stairs away.
